New ignition switch fitting all Type 3 models from 1961 to 1967. Switch comes complete with 2 keys. Housing is made in the USA by ISP West.
With our switch, you'll never have to worry about trying to source an often expensive early ignition switch ever again. Things do break, so we designed our switch to be rebuildable with a housing that works with 1967-1971 key cylinders, and the easy to find 1968-1970 electrical unit. If something fails, simply replace the component and get back to driving. Both of these items are available at most VW shops.
The key cylinder is simply held in with a clip. Press in and push the cylinder out for replacement. The electrical unit is held in with an allen head set screw. Remove this set screw to release the electrical unit. Do not lose the set screw. Also, note the orientation of the inner rotating "key" that sits between the key cylinder and switch.
