"I have gotten many seals, engine, and brake parts to fix it up."
How long have you owned your Type 3?
"I have owned my Squareback for about 10 months now. I found it on Craigslist for $500 and it had been sitting since 1976 in storage due to a bad distributor. It only had 36,000 miles on it and I signed the title over from the original owner. I found all the original documentation for it in the glove box including the window sticker, radio warranty and manual, and a ton more. I redid the brake system, did a semi rebuild."
How would you describe your Type 3?
"It is a very original car, original paint, seats, carpet, engine and more. I use it as a daily driver."
What's the furthest place you've traveled to in your Type 3?
"About an hour and a half away to go fly fishing with my dad. Driving through back country roads with the music going."
What's the next thing you'd like to do to your Type 3?
"Get some new door seals installed, they are a little leaky. I would also like to fix some more rust, I need a new right heater channel."
Have you owned more than one Type 3? Do you currently own more than one Type 3?
"No, this is my first Type 3. I really have come to love it. It the second car I have owned."
What's the best part about owning a Type 3?
"It’s pretty much has been my first car. I fixed it up myself and have the pride in getting it running again after 45 years. It’s the car I took my drivers test in this year. Every time I drive it, it’s always an adventure from the memories made to the people met."
