"Flamer was built in Reno in the 90's, then went to Sacramento area for a bit. Somehow ended up in Texas with a high school girl driving her. She left town, dad stored car out behind his shop. Posted on Craigslist that he needed money and wanted car gone. 3 months later and some help from friends and ISP West she made it to her 1st show in over a decade, the Texas VW Classic."

"Restored custom build."
What's the furthest place you've traveled to in your Type 3?
"Flamer loves to drive, just doesn't like to stop. Drove her to DFW for a week. She drank 5 tanks of gas while there. Plans to drive her to SoCal for El Prado 2021."
What's the next thing you'd like to do to your Type 3?
"Saving for a pan swap to a 4-speed with a 2130cc, of course all new brakes, body seal, fuel lines etc."
Have you owned more than one Type 3? Do you currently own more than one Type 3?
"Over the past 27 years I've had 1 Notch, 7 Squares, and 5 Fasty's of which only 6 ran, only one was used for parts."
What's the best part about owning a Type 3?
"I love Type 3 because to non-Vdubbers they have never seen one and ask a million questions. It's fun to see their face when it has 2 trunks and room for almost 5 people."
