New, Volkswagen Type 3 "economy" hood handle trim seal fitting Type 3 models from 1964 to 1965.
Available only in black.
This seal prevents metal to metal contact.
This seal is highlighted in red in the above diagram.
Fits:
- 1964-1965 Type 3 Notchback & Squareback
- or any models running the short 1964-1965 style hood trim
Installation (Detailed Images):
- Loosen hood handle; enough to slide rubber in.
- Starting in the middle on the underside of the trim, insert seal.
- Continue around until the end(s); pie cut to fit around corner(s). (detailed images)
- Extra material might need to be removed in order for the seal to fit. (detailed images)
- Once the seal is inserted around the entire hood handle, begin to tighten down the handle.
- As you tighten the handle down, push seal inwards so that the seal fits nicely around the handle.
