The 'Jail-bar' kits were available as an accessory from Volkswagen and standard on all Deluxe buses.
They protect the side and rear windows of your van from luggage sliding around on the parcel tray just above your engine.
These 'jail-bar' kits are manufactured from high quality aluminum tubes brackets.
All parts are pressure pressed aluminum, in popular terms this is called forged, exactly as Volkswagen used to make them (themselves).
Forged metal is many times stronger than the cheaper cast reproduction parts.
Hardware included.
Note:
- Brackets are polished, the tubes are not but can be easily polished by hand.
- Drilling some holes for the mounting brackets is necessary but simple.
